Fleabag’s hot priest Andrew Scott lands starring role in Showtime’s Ripley series


Scott will now take the lead in a new series, starring in Steven Zaillian's adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's Tom Ripley novels for United States cable network Showtime.

The series has received an eight-episode order from Showtime, with Steve Zaillian writing and directing, having previously helmed HBO's miniseries The Night Of.

All three of the new speakers work with a new feature called Frustration Detection for Alexa, which Amazon is launching today. With a 5.25-inch woofer, and 330W of power, the Echo Studio promises to produce "deep, rich bass", according to Amazon.

Highsmith's novels had been famously tailored into 1999 movie The Proficient Mr. Ripley, starring Matt Damon within the title function reverse Jude Legislation, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Cate Blanchett. Scott will also serve as a producer on the series. Showtime hasn't said exactly how The Talented Mr. Ripley will become an "ongoing series", but if the adaptation is successful, there are four other Patricia Highsmith novels featuring Tom Ripley which could potentially provide the source material. The drama stars BAFTA Award victor Andrew Scott, who most people know as the "hot preist" in "Fleabag", taking the lead role of Tom Ripley.
