"Pierre Delecto, John Barron and Carlos Danger walk into a bar.", CNN anchor Jake Tapper tweeted, mocking the freaky controversy. One tweet condemned U.S. President Trump's decision to withdraw American forces from northeastern Syria, a move that Romney has criticized publicly.
#PierreDelecto started trending nationally across Twitter early Monday, beginning with confusion and quickly evolving to become the joke of the day.
Scouring Mr Romney's grandchildren's Twitter accounts revealed Twitter user @qaws9876, known as Pierre Delecto.
A bit rakish and dashing, Romney's alternate online ego is also a confusing mix of a common French given name and a Latinate family name: delecto means "delight".
Note: This article was adjusted to better reflect that Romney confirmed the account was his. The 72-year-old senator has condemned Trump for allegedly attempting to get officials in Ukraine to dig up dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden and slammed the president's decision to withdraw USA troops from Syria.
Berhalter: US national team "didn't match what Canada was bringing" in intensity
Cavallini allowed the ball to bounce twice and beat Steffen to the near post with a right-footed shot from 12 yards. Bradley bungled a ball in his own third and Ream couldn't get purchase on his clearance.
At one point considered by Trump for Secretary of State, Romney is no newcomer when it comes to taking shots at the president.
According to Coppins, Romney shrugged off Trump's insults and grabbed an iPad off his desk during the interview.
The tale began when, in a lengthy profile about the senator, The Atlantic's McKay Coppins asked Romney about his social media habits and the senator admitted to having a "lurker" account on Twitter that he could use to secretly track certain topics and conversations.
But the politician isn't embarrassed by his Twitter alias. He appears to have used his account nearly exclusively to read the tweets of the people he followed. (Once an account goes private, everything about it apart from the username - tweets, "likes", you name it - is invisible to all except those who already followed the account.) What Moynihan found is that Pierre wasn't shy about approving of tweets that were critical of Republicans...
Why did Romney use a secret account? The account was created in July 2011, shortly after Romney announced he was going to run for president, Slate reported.
It follows politicians, Romney family members, political advisers, reporters who covered his campaigns, Romney fan accounts, as well as National Football League star Tom Brady and late night comedian Jimmy Fallon, Slate reported.
The Batman: Zoe Kravitz Cast As Catwoman
In addition to Big Little Lies , Kravitz has appeared in Mad Max: Fury Road , the Fantastic Beasts films, and X-Men: First Class. For a while now, I told BOF readers "After JOKER " when asked when we might hear the next round of THE BATMAN casting news.
Those were apparently enough clues for Feinberg.
Since January 2019, he has served as the junior USA senator from Utah.
Another clue was Delecto's Twitter activity. Others were reportedly mostly tweets about Romney in general, as well as a number from George Conway, the outspoken conservative Trump critic and husband of Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway.
The Rubio tweet is especially surprising since Marco was a surrogate for Romney 2012 and a shortlister for VP that year. Anyone can see which tweets you've liked.
But perhaps even more telling were Delecto's sparse tweets, several of which defended Romney.
Israelis, Europeans take to streets to protest Turkish assault on Kurds
But the Kurds say the Turkish invasion amounts to an attempt to redraw the ethnic map of the region at their expense. The Pentagon's official remarks contrasted with a statement from the Turkish Defense Ministry on Friday .
