The two-minute film - which runs to a longer, four-minute version in the U.S. - sees the adorable alien return to Earth to reconnect with his old friend, learning about all of the world's new, advanced technology in the process. He calls him E.T. and slowly introduces him to his family: brother Michael (Robert MacNaughton), sister Gertie (Drew Barrymore), and mother Mary (Dee Wallace).

When you woke up this morning, we bet you didn't expect to see an official E.T. sequel-but that's kind of what's happened, just in a slightly unconventional, very commercial way.

It did take a company like Xfinity to bring E.T. back to screens in 2019, even if screens today mean smaller screens at home. "It's really a win-win", the actor said in a statement.

Audiences first got a glimpse of the reunion when a two-minute version of the ad premiered during NBC's broadcast of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, according to Entertainment Weekly. If not, remember your old pal E.T.is always with you - in here.

Although technology has changed our world since they last saw each other, their friendship remains strong and is a touching reminder of how important reconnecting is at Christmas.

Buccaneers will attend Colin Kaepernick’s workout in Atlanta
It's also puzzling why teams that did not invite Kaepernick for a workout are attending the one being held by the NFL . Originally, there were conflicting reports about whether or not the Redskins would be attending Kaepernick's workout.

We don't want to spoil the ending, but it is certainly emotional.
