Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is moving toward annexing 30% of the occupied West Bank, after Israel was given the green light to do so by the United States. Under our vision, no Israelis or Palestinians will be uprooted from their homes or denied their civil rights.
The long-awaited Trump plan, which was unveiled Tuesday, would allow Israel to annex all its West Bank settlements - which the Palestinians and most of the worldwide community view as illegal - as well as the Jordan Valley, which accounts for roughly a fourth of the West Bank.
Meanwhile, Trump cautioned that "the conditions for statehood" should be met before the creation of "a contiguous territory within the future Palestinian State", which included stopping "the malign activities of Hamas", ending the incitement of hatred against Israel, among others.
The Jordan Valley, making up some 20 percent of the West Bank, were seized by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war and controlled ever since despite global criticism.
The head of the Arab League said Wednesday that an initial study of the plan's 50-page political framework showed that it "ignored legitimate Palestinian rights in the territories". "Palestine will prevail, and Trump and the deal will go to the dustbin of history", he said. For the first time, the holy city will be open to the 1.5 billion Muslims from the state of Palestine and around the world. I am proud to say that if a final agreement is reached, Israel has agreed that all Muslims will be welcome to peacefully worship at al Aqsa Mosque.

"It must end the Israeli occupation and enable Palestinian self-determination in an independent state of their own alongside a secure Israel". It also grants Israel virtually all of east Jerusalem.
Those terms were warmly received by some in Israel.
But its effects could start being felt in the occupied West Bank well before the March 2 polls.
Netanyahu has embraced it.
Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, announced his immediate rejection of the plan.
But its implementation could be delayed until Israel forms a permanent government, something that has eluded its fractious political parties for the past year.
