Four hours divided equally between each side will be afforded to the House impeachment managers and the president's defense on Monday, starting at 11 a.m., for closing arguments.

Rallies are set to take place across the country on Wednesday to protest the expected impeachment acquittal of President Donald Trump by the Senate.

Crow, one of the seven members of the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives who have argued the case against the president in the Senate, said impeachment was an "extraordinary remedy" to be used in only "rare instances of grave misconduct".

House manager Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-Texas, argued that the outcome of the impeachment trial will "affect the strength of democracies around the world" because "democracy is a gift that each generation gives to the next one". And I think Iowans understand that experience matters.

"Today, you have a duty to perform with fidelity, not without a sense of surrounding dangers, but also not without hope". They will be followed by White House lawyers, who will have up to two hours to present Trump's defense.

When Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) announced last week that he'd oppose including witness testimony in Donald Trump's impeachment trial, his decision wasn't too surprising - but his rationale was unexpected.

"Donald Trump has betrayed his oath to protect and defend the Constitution", said Adam Schiff, the California lawmaker who has served as the chief House prosecutor. A super majority, 67 senators, would need to vote in favour of convicting the president - which is considered extremely unlikely. The final vote on acquitting or convicting the president is scheduled for Wednesday. At least two Republican senators and three Democratic senators were seen as potential swing votes on the question of whether Trump warrants conviction. "It's significant because: Denying the president the ability to be present through counsel, to cross-examine witnesses, and present evidence fundamentally skewed the proceedings in the House". It's not clear if the acquittal vote will be bipartisan. "(Trump) is eager to go before the American people in this upcoming election". But the vote tallies on each article of impeachment were not settled.

"Given the partisan nature of this impeachment from the very beginning and throughout, I have come to the conclusion that there will be no fair trial in the Senate", she explained in a statement.

While an increasing number have conceded that Trump pressured Ukraine into investigating Democrats, including former Vice President Joe Biden, while withholding military assistance, they believe his actions are not impeachable. Jones said he wants "to hear the arguments and some conversations from colleagues" before he makes up his mind.
